Harvest to Hand Hemp Hummus
The humble hemp hummus, a somewhat easy spread/dip that can be used in more ways than one. With very little ingredients and only a couple of steps this recipe gives you a creamy delicious snack perfect for platter boards or spread on your favourite toast with some pesto. Delicious and nutritious as it contains both our Hemp Hearts and our Hemp Seed Oil.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup of HH Hemp Hearts
- 1 can of chickpeas (drained)
- 1 Tbsp tahini
- 1 garlic clove (shell off)
- ½ lemon squeezed
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 Tbsp HH Hemp Seed Oil
- black pepper to season
Method:
Place everything in a blender or magic bullet and blend until smooth. Depending on the type of consistency you like you may need to add more oil or a touch of water to get it quite creamy. If your using a bullet you will have to stop to shake the contents to make sure it all blends. Scrap down the sides every now and then to make sure all the mixture is blended. Season with black pepper and serve as a dip for bread, carrot or celery sticks or on crackers.
